You will be assigned to 16 shifts throughout the month.
While on a shift you will be teamed with a specific resident and attending to whom you will present your cases.
To find out who you will be working with, check the AMION website.

At the beginning of each shift, meet with the resident and attending you will be working with before picking up a chart. Ask your team how they want you to approach taking new cases. Most residents/attendings prefer to assign you cases as they become available.
Mastery of the oral presentation is a skill relative to emergency medicine that will reflect favorably on you with your residents and attending physicians. SAEM's Clerkship Directors in Emergency Medicine recently published the video below to guide students in the art of the perfect clinical presentation.
While working, it is expected that you will independently evaluate patients and then present them. Once the workup is initiated, it is up to you to take "ownership" of your patients. Follow through with radiology and lab reports, and be ready to discuss the disposition once you feel that an endpoint has been reached.
At the conclusion of each shift, you will be expected to have your attending or senior resident complete an evaluation card. These cards allow you to receive feedback, confirm the completion of the shift, and will have the most significant contribution to your ultimate SLOE ranking and comments.
